Alibaba Indian Restaurant

We've got a new favorite Saturday lunch spot in American Village!  I'd like to introduce you to Alibaba Indian Restaurant!  I don't think I'd ever tried Indian food before, thinking that it was all too spicy for my delicate palate, but I love Alibaba's lunch set!

Pancakes and sushi, anyone?

Dinner time and Brandon and I are trying to decide what we're hungry for...I want pancakes and Brandon wants sushi.  Where else but Okinawa could we find a cafe that would appease both of our cravings?  We had seen signs for Su Su Soon, but had yet to try it, so we took a short walk and soon (Su Su Soon - hehehe) found ourselves in front of a small, unassuming looking cafe.

St. Patrick's Day in Koza City

This Saturday (March 13) we were all celebrating St. Patrick's Day in Koza City.  You all know that we're ahead of the States time-wise, but I bet you didn't realize we were THAT far into the future.  :)  Realistically, it's difficult to have a good all-day festival during a weekday, so we're just saying St. Patrick's Day came early to Okinawa.

They had shut down Park Avenue and had three music "stages" and lots of food all day long.  Earlier in the day, they had a parade, but we opted to go a bit later in the afternoon and grab some dinner.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!  As with most holidays now, I celebrated by making cookies!  This time around, I tried out a new cookie recipe, as well as a new icing recipe.  I also fell in love with my new adjustable rolling pin, which helped me easily roll out even 3/8" dough for my cookies.  I became a firm believer in the jumbo cookie spatula I received in my batch of goodies last week.  I'll have to work with the dough and icing a few more times to decide if I want to switch to their recipes permanently or not.

Saturday Organization

Most of you know how organized I am.  I love being organized!  I feel best when my schedule is organized and everything around me is in its specific spot.  That being said, we've been shoving our plastic grocery bags under the sink since we got here.  (We don't accumulate nearly as many as we used to Stateside, as so many shops here are huge supporters of reusable bags, but we still have collected quite a few over the past year.)  I've kept saying I'll get around to sorting and organizing under the sink, but it kept getting bumped further down the to-do list.  Saturday, I decided I was ready.
