Blizzards, Hail, and Tornados OH MY!

Sounds like we missed quite the day in NE. I bet it is not often in the same state on the same day you have tornadoes and blizzards....except Nebraska! Now that is something I definitely don't miss right now is tornadoes. However, a co-work of mine said they did have a tornado in Okinawa a few years ago, but all it did was turn over a couple cars and disappear. So I don't know if that really counts. Oh... that same co-worker told me I should go to the beach at lunch and take a picture and send it to those in NE today to show what the weather was like here today. As for the weather here today it was cloudy and it did mist a little. I think it is suppose to rain again tonight and tomorrow. Well I'm off to work on the apartment some more. I'll attach a link to the news story about the weather in NE today. Link to news story: http://omaha.com/index.php?u_page=2798&u_sid=10593263

Instant coral reef, just add water...

When we walked down for our daily sunset at the Sea Wall, we were surprised to find exposed coral reef instead of water directly beyond the Sea Wall barrier.  Naturally, we decided to climb the barrier and explore!

Out for a stroll...

4-child strollers! Who woulda thunk?! (They kids face each other.)

4-child strollers! Who woulda thunk?! (They kids face each other.)

I saw this group of daycare kids and their caretakers out for a stroll the other day and had to get a photo.  Have you ever seen a four-child stroller?!  It looks like it hinges in the middle to allow the kids in/out.  The kids in front face towards the back, and the kids in back face front (so the kids are facing each other).  So you can push four children without the stroller being too unweildy.  An ingenious design, if you ask me!  I was thoroughly impressed!

Super Cookies to the rescue!

Super Cookies from Jimmy's Bakery Heaven...

Super Cookies from Jimmy's Bakery Heaven...

We received our first Japanese gift as a married couple!  As you know, gift-giving is an integral part of Japanese culture.  On the first floor of our apartment building, in a small room off the foyer, SKY Housing (a realty agency) just opened its doors.  We've been watching over the past few weeks as they fixed up the room and made it into a fully functional office.

Tortise wins the race...again!

I got a call from the Shipping Office on Friday, asking me to come in and provide them with maps and paperwork for our first shipment.  We were so excited and couldn't wait to get our own pillows again!  After getting the paperwork straightened out and setting up a delivery date of Monday (yesterday), the lady said, "Enjoy your household goods!" as I was leaving.  That stopped me in my tracks.  Househhold goods?!  What?!  No, this was our Expedited Shipment, wasn't it?!  Nope.  Turns out, in perfect correlation to the fable, the Household Goods shipment arrived first.  Tortise wins again!  (Or in this case, the boat was faster than the plane.  Go figure!)
