Sunabe’s August Moon Festival

We happened to see this banner a few days before the festival took place.  Our neighborhood of Sunabe was having a “August Moon Festival.”  Never ones to say no to a Japanese festival, we walked down the street around 7pm.

Cocock’s Nail Art

As many of you might already know, I love having my toe nails brightly colored. You might also already know that for as much as I love brightly polished toe nails (read: teal, dark green, royal blue, black, etc.), I have only had two pedicures in my life. I have a thing about not liking people touching my feet. I know, it’s weird, but hey, it’s me we’re talking about here.

Kamezen–Okinawa Soba Shop

Out back of American Village, in the new “Depot Island” area, we recently tried the Okinawa Soba shop, Kamezen. We were immediately enchanted by the Okinawa 1960’s era décor, as we were seated at a small table with a sewing treadle.

Found this in our mailbox the other day.  Not sure which was more funny – the fact that they misspelled “hotness” or the fact that the first thing I thought when I scanned the ad was, “Hoth?!  As is, food from the ice planet Hoth?!  Maybe some taun-tauns?  So cool!!!” 

Uh-huh.  I might think about Star Wars..…a lot.
