Brandon and I have had Lit songs (four of them, including "Ziplock," to be more specific) stuck in our head all weekend since we learned that the annual SchwabFest, a festival held on - you guessed it - Camp Schwab, was bringing in the band Lit. When Brandon mentioned this to me, I immediately sang back to him, "It's no surprise to me, I am my own worst enemy." Talk about good recall! We haven't heard any of their music since the 90s! Didn't realize they were still touring and putting out new albums. Oops. We figured we'd better make up for our lack of Lit by driving a little over an hour up north to the marine base.
So what do you do on a rainy Memorial Day in Okinawa? You start preparing for your July Fuji hike, that's what you do! Brandon brushed and moisturized his boots with the help of Doc Martin. The boot on the left is the finished product (oh so nice-looking!) and the boot on the right is waiting for its turn.
As most of you know, my Daddy came to visit us for two weeks this month. We had so much fun! So nice to see him and get big hugs in person! Here's a few photo highlights of some of the adventures we had while he was here:
While Daddy was here, he specifically requested that he would like to make cookies with me. We made Snickerdoodles the first week. Got to try out my brand new Silpat mats.
