DIY Envelopes

Of course, making cards also requires a stock of invitation sized envelopes. Surprisingly that size seems to be more expensive than I’d like to pay over here. So, I grabbed the cardboard template I’d made a few years ago when I was making custom envelopes out of magazines and old calendars (great up-cycling project, by the way), some white printer paper, my double-sided tape, and went to town replenishing my envelope stock.

Beach Cards

DSC05091

While visiting back in PA, I borrowed this sweet beach stamp from my Mama and a few days ago I spent the afternoon experimenting with it to create some cards.

So Long Muifa and Don’t Come Back (TCCOR 4)

Just a quick note, we are back to TCCOR 4 and everything is quiet again!  Last night it was loud enough in EVERY room that we ended up sleeping on the couch, because it was quietest room in the entire apartment.

Typhoon Muifa (TCCOR 1E)

imageJust another quick update, we are at TCCOR 1E and it is windy.  Wind speeds of 54mph and gusts of 67mph and rain.  Other than that nothing too exciting out here and we’re heading to bed.  Hopefully, the whistling from the windows does not keep us up.  As those who have skyped with us during a windy day can testify to it gets quite loud.

TCCOR 1 Emergency: Actual winds of 50 knots or greater.

Typhoon Muifa (TCCOR 1C)

image

Just a quick update, we are at TCCOR 1C and it is starting to get windy.  It has rained off and on most of the day, but that is about as exciting as it gets.  Unless you count the building starting to vibrate a little with the wind gusts.  The typhoon is currently a category 2, the last time I checked.

So we are still playing the waiting game for it to actually get here.  Although I did run down and throw up the typhoon bar in the garage and they have shut off our elevators until after the typhoon has passed.

At this rate there seems to still be a decent chance I will get a “typhoon day” tomorrow and will not have to go to work.  Its kind of like a “snow day,” but without the snow and cold.  Instead it is wet and most likely debris.  I’ll post another update if/when we make it to 1E.  That is unless I am in bed sleeping while we are in 1E.  If that happens I’ll post an update in the morning.
