Fun in Ikebukuro

On our way to Ikebukuro to meet up with the Tomita family for lunch, Brandon and I stopped by Nakano’s Broadway shopping place to see if their action figure shop happened to be open. 

Nakano Broadway is an indoor shopping center with floors and floors of stores.

Our store wasn’t open until afternoon, but it was fun to walk around a bit.

On our way back to the Metro Station, we came across these girls dressed up in costume, out for a stroll.

We had a wonderful lunch buffet at the Prince Hotel in Ikebukuro!  It was so nice to get to see the Tomitas again!  And we got to meet the newest addition to Sakurako’s family – baby Kouki!  (I got to carry him around a bit while he slept – too cute!)

Shinta had to go to work after lunch, but the rest of us went up to the Sunshine City observatory.  Adorable Iori has grown so fast since we saw her last year!  She was happy to hold Brandon’s hand and direct him around the observatory floor.

We had a wonderful time visiting with the Tomita Family!  Good food, wonderful friends, and a very fun afternoon!

Is that REALLY a wood railing in the Nakano Broadway shopping center? hmmm. I've seen too many wild, wild west movies to trust them!! lol
Also, does the peace sign in a lot of your pictures mean the same thing there as here?? It seems for years now that you send pics of the people and they do that! Even at that one Halloween event you took pics of random costumed people and they were flashing the sign! I wonder if it's a "universal" sign?
You failed to mention what you observed at the sunshine observatory. Was that because it's self explanatory?? lol
I love the pic of Gramma and Lori. You are so good at capturing the light in people's expressions! Glad Lori wasn't intimidated by Brandon's stature. Some of us are!! ;)
