These boots were made for hiking...

So what do you do on a rainy Memorial Day in Okinawa?  You start preparing for your July Fuji hike, that's what you do!  Brandon brushed and moisturized his boots with the help of Doc Martin.  The boot on the left is the finished product (oh so nice-looking!) and the boot on the right is waiting for its turn.

As for me, I'm wearing my brand new hiking boots around the apartment to break them in.  As many of you know, I'm a bit challenging to fit.  I've been in search of a pair of boots (hiking or snow) for about 10 years now - no kidding.  I finally found a pair of Converse work boots that will fit my feet and can serve as hiking boots or snow boots!  (I love snow, so eventually I figure I'll need snow boots again.)  Now the trick is to break them in so I don't have blisters from hiking.  Check out those ultra cute chenille socks my cousin Lauren got me for Christmas a few years ago!  They're the only thicker, tall socks I have over here (my skiing socks are all State-side), so I've been putting them to good use.  I don't plan on hiking in them though, so I'd better get a pair of Smartwool hiking socks ordered.  Either way, I was making quite the fashion statement today.  :)

Mount Fuji, here we come!
