Daddy in Oki
As most of you know, my Daddy came to visit us for two weeks this month. We had so much fun! So nice to see him and get big hugs in person! Here's a few photo highlights of some of the adventures we had while he was here:

While Daddy was here, he specifically requested that he would like to make cookies with me. We made Snickerdoodles the first week. Got to try out my brand new Silpat mats.
A few weeks ago, Megumi and Roger invited us to try out a new fondue restaurant with them. None of us had been to a fondue restaurant before, so it was definitely an adventure!
We all shared a pot of cheese fondue and had dipping options of bread, shrimp, potato, mushrooms, and tiny onions. Brandon and Roger both tried the little onions...and said they were quite oniony. Megumi and I said we were too smart to bite into an onion, no matter how good the cheese fondue was. :)
I've always heard people say that everyone grieves differently. I've seen firsthand many times that this is very true. I've come to the conclusion that I can grieve differently for different people, too.
Most of you probably know by now that our dear friend Josh died one month and a day ago. He was pursuing his calling and dream of becoming a missionary bush pilot. His plane went down in FL during a routine flight. It still doesn't seem real to me. I still find myself jumping on Skype and hoping to catch him to chat, or seeing something in a store that reminds me of him and making a mental note to shoot him an email or call his cell when I get home. I have been keeping myself extremely busy this past month and trying to just stay distracted as much as possible. This is the first time I've felt willing and able to sit down and write on our website.
Brandon took me out for a nice dinner at the Macaroni Grill on Foster last weekend. We said it was a little over a year since we moved to Okinawa, almost a year since we were in Italy, and we were finally feeling good after being sick for so long. Those are good reasons to celebrate, right? We thought so. :)
