Cupcake Cards
I spent a happy afternoon at my craft table, trying out some new punches my in-laws and hubby got me for Christmas. (For this post, I’m focusing on the cupcake edger.)
My friend Steph sent me over a box of crafty stuff she wasn’t using, and in it were some of these bright, happy invitations. I don’t plan on having a party anytime soon, but I’m always in need of more fun cards, so I thought I’d upcycle these into everyday cards.
I had some cute stickers in my sticker drawer that complimented the cards’ color scheme and conveniently covered the “Invitation” lettering on the front.
Then I had fun cutting and edging pink scrapbooking paper to cover the inside of the cards. I absolutely love the fun the cupcake edges! Makes me smile every time I look at it – and hopefully it’ll have the same effect on it’s recipient!
So next time you see some cute cards on the clearance rack that draw you to their colors, but that might not be useable as is, grab ‘em anyway, dig through your craft stash, and have fun upcycling them into cards that fit your style!
