Kebab’s Indian Restaurant
I met up with Steph for lunch today and we tried out a restaurant we’ve been driving past since we arrived on the island. Kebab’s is conveniently located right on Route 58 and is near our apartment. It’s also right above the Mexican restaurant Obbligato and next to the “garlic ramen” shop. Needless to say, parking can become quite challenging around lunchtime.
I tried their chicken curry Lunch Set B and “upgraded” my tea to a Cola. (I really love Japanese Coca-Cola! My absolute Coca-Cola formula so far!) The set came with chicken curry, naan bread, salad, and fruit ‘n yogurt for dessert.
I know, you’re thinking “just how many Indian restaurants do they need?!” but I can honestly say all four we’ve tried had good food, three of them having excellent curry and naan. They all have slightly different recipes (Ali Babba’s told us they use a Indian-British-Okinawan blend) that makes each curry flavor unique. All of the naan breads we’ve tried have varied in taste and texture, as well. I’m a huge fan of Bollywood Dream’s Mango Chicken Curry, Ali Babba’s Chicken Curry and naan, and now I’m adding Kebab’s Chicken Curry and naan to my list, though next time I am only ordering Lunch Set A (Curry and Naan.) As tasty as it was, Lunch Set B proved to be just too much food for me to consume in one setting.
Steph had their chicken katsu and curry, which she said was quite good.
Their menu listed “Lemon Chicken Curry” as one of their specialties, and I definitely think Brandon and I will have to give that a try one of these weekends.
It’s always fun to try new restaurants, especially when they turn out to be ones that even before you finish your meal, you know you want to come back. Kebab’s Indian Restaurant, we’ll definitely be seeing you again soon!
