The Tortilla Factory
We tried out a new restaurant this weekend – The Tortilla Factory – a Japanese-Mexican restaurant down near Foster. I think we found a new “favorite” restaurant! The staff was wonderful, the food was delicious – the only downside is limited parking and, like many Japanese restaurants, only five tables inside. They do offer take-out, though, which is rare on this island.
The restaurant is set up similar to Subway – you walk in, choose your entrée from signs overhead, tell the nice ladies behind the counter what you’d like, and then watch as they prepare your food. Their menu consists of approximately five different burritos and five bowls to choose from – then you get to specify your choice of toppings.
I fell in love with their Honey Chicken Bowl – Honey Chicken, fried potato pieces and some sort of honey sauce on a bed of wonderfully flavored rice. Being the veggie-fearing eater that I am, I asked for only cheese and lettuce as my toppings. It was soooo good!
Brandon got a Honey Chicken Burrito set, which included the burrito, drink, chips and salsa, and a cup of spicy tortilla soup. He definitely enjoyed every bite!
While the burrito was about 3/4 the size of a massive Chipotle burrito, we both walked away very satisfied and eager to try out more of their menu another day! Soon, hopefully!
