Happy Pi Day!

Back in Summer Honors 2001, SHP, we in the Computer Science class even wrote a small script that ran the two weeks of Summer Honors doing nothing, but trying to see how far we could calculate Pi out to before the two weeks ended.  I do not remember how far we got, but figured since today is 3/14 I'd share:

Background:

The Summer Honors Program is an accelerated summer school sponsored by Educational Service Unit #11. It is designed to help rural Nebraska high school students study advanced subject matter with instructors who can take them beyond most rural high school curricula.

Students are selected for the program after being nominated by their high school teachers. The finalists are selected on the basis of performance on an exam or work samples.

Instructors who come from all over the U.S. and beyond for the program are selected on the basis of the caliber of program they can provide and the type of work they have done within the field of their expertise.
