Valentine's Day Cookies!

I've been looking forward to making Valentine's Day cookies for a while now.  I had so many ideas for heart-shaped cookies, but I wanted to do iced hearts for Valentine's Day this year.  So I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.

I had some dough issues this time (crazy humidity!), so I ended up making thicker-than-my-usual cookies, which in turn meant a few less cookies than usual.  Still got almost 60 cookies in the end, so I think that's still a win.  :)

I listened to my iPod as I piped the finishing touches on my cookies.  You can see my laptop beside me for some additional inspiration.  And you might notice that I seem to be piping with both hands, but predominantly my right.  No idea why.  I truly am a South Paw, but I guess I do a few things right-handed, too.  Keeps people guessing?

The finished product - I gave this plate to Sky Housing.  I also sent two plates with Brandon for his office.  And I'm taking a box to Megumi.  Speaking of boxes...

I found these adorable cupcake boxes the other day!  I thought they'd be cute for cookies, as well.  I'll have to keep an eye out for different designs in the future.

Another successful Dessert Diplomacy exercise completed!  Which reminds me...St. Patrick's Day is coming up...  :)
